One of the most effective and rewarding ways to support adult literacy in Washington State is to become a volunteer with a literacy program. The Literacy Network Of Washington Adult Literacy Directory contains information about local community literacy programs that support volunteers in working with adult literacy and ESL (English as a Second Language) students in one-to-one, small group, and classroom settings. Each volunteer literacy program is unique in its mission, services to adult learners and its use and support of volunteers.

To find volunteer opportunities with an adult literacy program near you, go to the Basic or Advanced Search pages.
